Structural fibre-reinforced cement-based composite designed for particle bed 3D printing systems. Case study Parque de Castilla Footbridge in Madrid

This paper presents the material and process-related research that underpinned realisation of Parque de Castilla Footbridge in Madrid 2016, going from laboratory to industrial scale. The fibre-reinforced cement-based composite was first developed tested a small-scale particle bed printer focusing on evaluating influence process mechanical response density printed parts. solution then upscaled full-size underwent technical modifications ensure adequate control production quality footbridge segments. observations derived study provide valuable insights relevant differences induced by technology upscaling can inform future applications technology.
